Position Overview:
The Cybersecurity Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing our cybersecurity architecture and strategies. This position involves assessing security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing effective measures to protect our clients’ sensitive information. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, as well as experience working with public sector organizations to address their unique security challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and risk analyses for public sector clients.
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor network security events and incidents, utilizing advanced threat detection tools to identify and respond to potential breaches.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, providing insights to improve security posture.
- Conduct training and awareness programs for clients to promote a culture of cybersecurity best practices.
- Assist in incident response planning and execution, ensuring effective containment and recovery processes.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders to communicate security findings and recommendations.
Travel:
This job will require up to 40% travel. Most of the travel will be within Georgia and Florida.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a focus on public sector organizations preferred.
Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (FISMA, HIPAA, etc.). - Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques, as well as incident response methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
